The Silverton Silver Creek Intake project was selected by the Oregon Chapter of APWA as the 2025 Project of the Year in the Environmental (<$5M) category. Additionally, the project received an Honor Award from the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) Oregon. The ACEC recognizes outstanding engineering projects that demonstrate “exceptional innovation, complexity, achievement, and value.”
The City of Silverton, Oregon and Keller worked together to complete a new raw water intake facility. Keller designed the replacement for the existing intake structure and pump station—which is expandable to a triplex system. Keeping the City’s unique needs in mind, the design also incorporated a new fish screen and backwash system, nearly 1,500 feet of pipeline, and trenchless rehabilitation of approximately 300 feet of additional pipeline. The project was completed on time and under budget.
Partnering with the City of Silverton on this project meant a lot to me. It’s about more than infrastructure. It’s about securing water for the people and the place that make Silverton special.
