The new wastewater treatment plant for Kuna provides 13,000 new sewer connections. The treatment plant includes screening, grit removal, membrane bioreactors (MBR), UV disinfection, and storage and dewatering for solids. Future plans include an effluent pump station providing reuse of water for irrigation.

Services provided:
- This facility is the largest MBR wastewater facility in the State of Idaho with treatment capacity of approximately 3.5 MGD
- Prepurchase of Siemens MBR equipment
- Required EPA discharge permit for a new discharger. Allows the City to discharge to Indian Creek by reducing total phosphorus to below 0.07 mg/L
- Over 8.7 miles of offsite piping
- Facilities include: Two 2-mil fine screens with washer/compactors, grit removal, grit classifiers, odor control, UV disinfection, and solids handling
- Funding for the project included a $30,000,000 raw land LID, prepurchase and reimbursement policies
- Completed phosphorus No Net Increase Plan
